Introduction

I am a standard schnauzer hobby breeder who has been owned by standard schnauzers for 28 years. I don't breed often (once every 2 years, if I am lucky). I only breed to improve my lines and have a new puppy to show. I am the president of the Greater Pittsburgh Standard Schnauzer Club and their newsletter editor. Many of my articles are posted on my website. I spend a good bit of time studying my dogs behavior and actions, not just training them. Their interaction with each other amazes me! I am willing to share any of my knowledge of the breed, dogs, grooming, or training with anyone who is interested.

Today I went to a puppy match with my youngest, Promise. She got a Group 2. 2 out of 4 is not bad for her first time in the ring. I was going to let my husband take her in, but I just was not sure if his nerves would cause a disaster and I did not want her first time in the ring to be anything but extremely fun. By the smile on her face as we were going around, I would say I accomplished my goal.

I agree that my husband still needs some training, but he has only been around dogs for 5 years and since we have only been married a year, he just started into the dog show world. He still gets very nervous going into the ring. I have to remind him to calm down every time. I expect that will diminish with time. I don't feel that I need training as I have been showing dogs for 14 years and think it is a great deal of fun. I no longer get nervous.

Spot on with this write-up, I actually suppose this web site needs way more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read rather more, thanks for that info. .
