stayed home with us for a while and then went somewhere. She beat Dad home and
we got to play with her for a bit. Before Mom left, I teased her and would not
come in again. She got pretty mad and we played outside for quite a while until
she got tired of the game.

that were in the front yard. Dad got upset with Ever for barking and scaring
the three bunnies. He does not seem to understand that Ever is just trying to
protect everyone from those terrible creatures!

Saturday – Dad and Mom took Bonnet and left again! She
is back in their good graces or so it appears. They were gone for a really long
time. When they got back, Bonnet told us she was put through all kinds of weird
things. First she had her usual blood drawn, but it did not end there. They
took her out of the vet place and went to eat somewhere. She was left in the car
for the eating and did not get any treats. Then they went somewhere else and
left her in the car again for a while. When they came back, they had food, but
not a single treat for Bonnet. Then they ended up back at the bad vet place.
They sat in the waiting room for a while and then were taken to a room. Bonnet told
us she feels safer in those rooms. They were in the room for a bit and then
were moved to another room with a funny machine. When the stranger who took her
blood came in, Dad put Bonnet on the metal table and the strange lady started
rubbing something weird on her belly. It was cold and slimy! Lastly, another
stranger came in and was rubbing the same thing on her belly, but he pushed so
hard that Bonnet said she was lifted off the table even though Mom was holding
her back legs down. Bonnet did not much feel like eating after that.

I played very hard in it when I was allowed outside. Dad and Mom went out for a
bit, but we don’t know where they went. They also walked down to the neighbor’s
house and were messing with those dogs down there. Dad came back first and smelled
of all those rotten dogs! Mom also smelled of them when she got back. She also
had toe nail clippers in her hands, so we know what they were doing! I am glad
those rotten dogs got to have something bad done to them by Dad and Mom!

Saturday – It is becoming routine that Dad and Mom
go somewhere with Bonnet on Saturday’s. The same old place again, is what she
told us, but this time she got a yummy treat when they stopped on their way
back. Bonnet said she got 1 ½ pieces of chicken and loved every bite of them!
Why don’t they give me good stuff like that? I have forgiven Mom for yelling at
me and now want her to pet me all the time again. She must still be angry at me
though because she does not pet me unless she wants to.

Monday – When Mom got home, rather late, she met Dad
and they both took Bonnet yet again. This time they were not gone as long and
Bonnet did not come back with them. We only got about an hour of play time and
we had to go back to bed because Dad is sick and does not want us running
around and pestering him.

Tuesday – Some strange man brought Bonnet back. Isee
said he used to live in this house and she used to live with him. He put Bonnet
in her pen and left. I don’t know who he was, but I think it was that man that
was at the dog show who took me into the building the one day. He is scary and
I barked at him this time! Mom was late coming home again and she fed us when
she arrived. Dad was close behind her, but at least we got some play time in
the evening.

Thursday – Snow! I got to go out and play in the
snow and it was a great deal of fun! I hope I will get to play in it some more
before it melts again. Boy did I get one over on Mom for a few seconds. She was
talking to someone on the phone and left her dinner on the table, I knocked the
paper plate on the floor and started eating her dinner. It tasted good, but she
caught me. I got yelled at and avoided Mom for the rest of the evening. The
food was good, but I think it was the sauce that was the best! I never had
barbeque sauce before, but it tasted yummy!

coming in after getting it all over me and soaking Dad and Mom with it! Mom fed
us all early, but did not go anywhere right away. When she did leave, it was
with Dad. They must have eaten while they were out because I could smell it on
them.

away again. She said she went to that scary place where they take blood. She
hates that place, but still loves to go with Dad or Mom for rides. Later in the
evening. Mom let me taste her food. She was eating something that smelled sweet
(ice cream cake) and she let me lick the bowl after she was done. I think she
should give me the whole thing next time, it was so wonderful. I stayed on her
lap a long time after we were done hoping for another taste. Bonnet got to sit
on Mom’s lap and stayed there for quite a long time as well. At night Dad shut

Saturday – Mom brought Isee in very early and then
we all went back to sleep. Dad was in not too much later and he started
grooming Ever, then Bonnet, and then me. He put each of us in a crate and Mom
went over us as well. I kissed Dad on the ear several times hoping he would
stop with the noisy dryer, but he did not. When he was done grooming me, Mom
put me in Isee’s crate in the living room. I was under Bonnet, who was in her
crate, but I did not understand why! We sat around in the crates for a while
and then Dad took us out to the van. He stuck me in a crate in the very back
where I could not see anyone and the ride was very bumpy. Isee was the only dog
who did not get to go. I don’t like car rides very much at all! I complained,
but Mom kept telling me to settle down. The car ride was very long. Once we
finally stopped, Dad chalked us in the van and he handed me over to some
stranger. I was not leaving the car to go with this weird guy I have only seen
twice before! This guy drags me out of the car and I decided I was going to
poop just to annoy him! Then he dragged me into a building and down some scary
steps and through a bunch of weird people and other dogs. Finally Mom came and
rescued me! I still did not want to move, but at least I was much happier. Once
I realized that Mom had Ever, I was overjoyed and went with her to where Ever was.
Bonnet finally joined us. Mom broke out the treats that Ever and Bonnet had
been telling me were worth all the fuss and bother. They call it Liver, and
what ever it is, it is one of the best tasting treats I have had in a long
time. We stood around for a while and then Mom asked me to walk away from the
other 2 dogs. I wanted nothing to do with walking away from Bonnet! Mom finally
convinced me that I should. We walked into an area where there were no other
dogs and I was happy to trot around the ring like the good girl Mom kept
telling me I was. Some strange lady came over and touched me all over. I stayed
still and did not move, which is what Mom has always taught me to do. Then we
moved around the open space some more. That part was pretty fun! The lady
handed Mom something and then we went back into the confusion. I did not want
to be out there, so I froze again. A few minutes went by and we went back into
the thing that Mom calls a ring with one other dog. Once that dog was far
enough away from me, I went with Mom around the ring again. Mom then made me
get in front of that other dog, which I was not too happy about, but she seemed
very pleased with me and gave me some liver. The lady handed Mom two more
things and we went back into the jungle of dogs and humans. She handed me back
to that strange man and then took Ever and went back into the ring. Bonnet and
Dad went in as well. The stranger dragged me back in, but I was happy to be
behind Bonnet, so it was not too bad. Then Mom and Ever went around the ring
and ended up behind me. All I wanted to do was look at Mom, but this guy got
mad at me and would not let me do it! I just kept trying and ignored him. When
Bonnet went around, I was really frustrated that I could not watch or follow
her. Then this guy took me around the ring so I was behind Bonnet again and I
was much happier. We stayed behind Bonnet and Ever and then we left the ring.
We then sat around while people came over and petted us for a while and then
Mom took me back into the ring and made me stand next to a sign while some guy
took pictures of us. The lady who petted me all over was standing next to us,
but she did not try to touch me again. Ever also got his picture taken and then
we all went back into the sea of people. Once Dad and Mom had packed up all our
stuff, Mom took all three of us dogs and Ever led us outside. I was happy to
follow Mom until we got outside and then I followed Bonnet. We got back into
the crates in the car, but this time I got to ride behind Dad and Mom. That made
the ride a bit better. We did not go too far when we stopped and Dad and Mom
left for a bit. Then we sat in our crates and barked and howled until Dad and
Mom returned, which seemed like hours to us. When they finally did return, we
rode for what seemed like hours again until we finally got home. We dogs were
thrilled to be home, but even after we got home, Dad and Mom would not let us
go outside to play in the rain. I wanted to go roll in the mud, but they just
would not let us out. Isee got to go out, but not one of us who suffered
through the day were allowed to run and play. Much later in the evening, Dad
did take us for a walk, but not a very long one. Mom went to bed early and Dad
played with each of us for a while. He took Isee back to bed with him again.
That was 2 nights in a row. How unfair!

Sunday went much the same as Saturday except that
Dad took me into the building and I got to stand around with Bonnet once I got
in there. I did not win and I was stuck being held by some lady I don’t know.
Mom says she is my step grandma, but I don’t much care for her. I wanted to be
in the ring with Ever and Bonnet! It is no fun being outside the ring while
they are in there having fun.

Monday - Dad and Mom went to work and Ever, Bonnet,
and I were glad. We got to rest. Mom started stripping my coat when she got
home and when Dad came home, he helped. It was terrible! I hate it when they do
that.

Tuesday – Dad stripped Bonnet, he put me on the
table and worked on my coat a bit more. He even put Isee up there and did
something to her! Mom is always the one who grooms us, so we don’t know what is
up! It is all so confusing!

Friday – Bonnet came in season! Ever is going crazy
and Dad and Mom won’t let them out together.

scrubbing. Dad gave her the bath and he was very gentle with her. We played
outside without Isee most of the day.

Sunday – Snow! It was wonderful! We have that cool
frozen white water outside again. I love to romp in the snow and chase the
others through it. Mom took my picture when I came in covered with the stuff.
She said it might be a good photo to put on my page of the website.

Monday – Mom was home with us all day. Dad went to
work. We played and romped. Dad actually came home early and they made some
kind of good smelling meat for dinner. They would not share the meat with us,
much as we begged them to. Dad stayed up late so we all knew he was not going
to work the next day. Mom got up with him later on and they let all of us into
the house. There was some loud bangs outside that bothered Isee, but the rest
of us just barked at them!

Tuesday – Treats! Yippee! We all got special bones.
Mom says it is a holiday, but it seems like a normal day to me. I played in the
snow some more and we all got to take a nap with Mom. Napping with Mom is fun
because Isee gets in her crate and Ever, Bonnet, and I get on the bed and hog
the whole thing. Mom curls up with us and we rest for a couple of hours on the
nice soft mattress.

Wednesday – We had a visitor today! Mom was watching
TV when the door bell rang. None of the older dogs knew what to do! Visitors
are so rare that we don’t hear the bell very often. Mom convinced Ever and
Bonnet to get back in their pens, but I, as usual, refused to come inside. The
man went all over the house and checked all the doors. Mom shut me outside
until he was in another room. Then she let me sneak in to see him. As soon as I
realized how big he was, I followed Mom to the dog room for safety. Then Mom
let him in the dog room twice. Ever and Isee tried to protect her, but she
silenced them by holding something in her hands and threatening them with a
barker collar. I don’t know what that is, but Mom said if I kept up my noise, I
was going to learn. Mom left us for a bit after the guy left, but she came
right back and let us play some more. We all sniffed where the guy had been,
but found nothing to worry about.

Thursday – Mom left us again in the afternoon, but
no new visitors or anything. We still have snow, so I have been playing in it.
I love to drag it in and share it with everyone. In the evening, Mom gave me a
bath and used that loud noisy dryer on me. She then snipped away most of my
long hair and kept me on the table for quite a while. Dad says I am cuter than
ever now! I don’t much care to be groomed, but I like being the cutest
schnauzer in the house! I did get to sleep with Dad and Mom, so that made up
for all the grooming. I love sleeping on that soft mattress!

Friday - Mom
went to work. We were all disappointed that we had to wait for her to come home
to play. When she got home, she let everyone but Bonnet out and Bonnet got
groomed the same way Mom groomed me yesterday. Then she did Ever. When Dad came
home, he worked on Ever some more then we all got to rest. Dad came back in
later and worked on Ever even more. Isee is the only one who did not get
groomed. She got lucky and was allowed to sleep out.

Thursday - When Mom got up this morning, I was
outside doing my guard duty. I did not want to come in as there was a critter
in the small dog yard that needed to be told to go away. It was not listening
to me very well. Mom came outside and scared it away for me so I could go back
to sleep. Later in the day, Mom kicked everyone out of the dog room and was in
there for a long time. I am not as big as Ever and Bonnet, so I can’t quite see
over the door to figure out what she was doing. We were all very anxious to
find out and pester her when she came out until she took us in a bit early for
dinner. I was hoping for more Christmas presents, but there was nothing new in
our pens, just less mud and dog hair. I wonder what we have to do to get more
goodies.

Friday – Mom was home most of the day again. She let
us out to play and then the phone started ringing. She ended up putting us away
again pretty quickly and somehow she tricked me into being inside so I had to
go back into my pen even though I did not want to. When she got back home, we
all got to go play outside some more while she sat around in her computer room
on the floor. I am not sure what she was doing there, but Ever kept an eye on
her so we could all go play without her knowing what kind of trouble we were
getting into. Finally, so came out and caught me with a bungee cord in my
mouth. She told me to drop it and when she does that, I always do! It is the
one thing I know she will be very upset about if I don’t listen. Besides, she
was outside with us and she almost never comes outside to play. She did not
seem too angry with me and went back to what ever it was she was doing before
after she took away this new bungee toy I had found. In the afternoon, Isee
convinced Mom to feed us early. She bounced and jumped and begged for all she
was worth and it worked. I tried to help, but Mom ignored me.

Merry Christmas! Mom had to take a couple of weeks
of because of her MS, but now we are back! Christmas was a wonderful time
around here! I got all kinds of treats and new toys. Mom has been home taking
care of us for a week and I think it is great! We all had our pictures taken
with Santa, which was kind of scary, but when I realized that he smelled a lot
like Dad, I was much happier.

I have been playing tricks on Dad and Mom again.
They want me to go to bed when I am not sleepy or ready to get back into my
pen, so I just run outside and sit on the hill. Eventually they get tired of
chasing or calling me. Dad will usually chase me until he catches me. Mom
won’t! She just waits for me to come inside or gets one of the others to get me
to follow them inside. I still think the game is a great deal of fun and I will
continue to play it as much as I can.

warm under coat is necessary, but she seems to think it is. Someone needs to
tell her it is winter and I was prepared for the cold! Speaking of which, it
Snowed again for a day. Everything was covered in it including me! I love to
run, jump, and roll in the stuff! It is so light and fluffy and tastes good
too!

12/8/07

Saturday, Dad and Mom left in the late morning and
got home about the time they would from work. We don’t know where they went,
but when they came home, there were more of the treats they make and some new
toys being squeaked in the kitchen. Dad kept bringing them up from the
basement. Very late in the evening, Dad brought up this thing that looks like a
tree and put it next to the television. He moved our dog beds around in that
room and I don’t get what is going on, but it looks like I might have fun
chewing on this inside tree!

Sunday, that tree no longer looks anything like a
tree. Isee and Ever tell me this is a yearly ritual. There are all kinds of
thing wrapped under that tree, but none of them smell any good to me. Isee says
treats usually show up but not until the night before we get to have them. I
don’t believe her. The things under the tree have a couple of corners I could
rip out, though. I am thinking of doing so. I started to sniff the silver stuff
that covers the tree, but Mom said I could not destroy it. Tempo, that darn
bird, thinks it looks like fun to play with, but said he has not been allowed
to do so either.

Tuesday, Mom put Bonnet in the crate in the living
room and let the rest of us play and Bonnet was crying because she could not
see any of us. Tempo started crying with her. It really annoyed Mom! I thought
it was fun and tried to go visit Tempo, but Mom does not like it when any of us
schnauzers try to go over and see that darn green creature. The older 3 said he
was free once while they were out and Bonnet got to yank some of his feathers
before Mom caught everyone and made them stop. They wanted to kill him, but she
said NO!

Thursday, Mom was doing weird stuff. When she does
these weird things, I try to stay far away from her! This time, she started
with grooming Ever, which she worked on yesterday as well. Then she pulled out
this big wooden contraption, which is taller than I am, and stuck it over
Ever’s back. She was very happy with him! She then stuck it over Isee’s back.
Isee did not like it at all! She tried to get away, but eventually stood there
while Mom put it over her shoulders. Mom was happy with her as well. Then, Mom
came after me. It took her a couple of minutes of trying, then she headed for
the carrot cookies. I came running for those! I love carrot cookies! Well, she
caught me because she tricked me. She took me over to the same big wooden
device and drug me under it. All she really did was want me to stand pretty and
put this thing over my back. She seemed rather happy about the results and I
got a big hug with my carrot cookie! Later that evening when Dad got home, he
tricked me in a similar way and got me weighed with everyone else. Then he took
me to that same contraption and helped Mom put it on my shoulders again. They
both seemed happy with the results. Mom says I can start going to dog shows
now. Later when no one was looking, I snuck up the wooding thingy and sniffed
it! Mom saw me and told me that I was a good girl for sniffing the wicket. Isee
is terrified of it, but she says she got measured a lot when she was a show
dog. She said everyone thinks that she is too big. I want to be just as big as
she is so I can rule the house one day!

Friday, every morning, Mom comes in before she
leaves for work and tells all of us that she loves us! We all get a little
scratch and then she leaves for the day. Dad comes in a bit later and feeds us.
He added some weird smelly stuff to our food that I thought smelled funny. I
did not eat all of my breakfast for a change! Mom also changed her routine when
she comes home. She started letting Ever, Bonnet and I into the big yard and
Isee into the small one. We all envy Isee because she gets to play where we don’t.
Then Mom cleans out our pens. She takes all the good smelly poop away! Dad used
to do this, but now Mom takes care of it for him. I don’t know why it changed,
but I love barking at Isee with Bonnet when we go outside! Mom let us all play
as normal, then put us away before Dad got home and left. I don’t know where
she went, but when she came home, we did not get let out to see her. Dad came
home shortly after and they both left. When they got home, we knew they had
been somewhere eating something good and they didn’t even bring us anything!
Mom did let me stand on her lap and was petting me for quite a while, which I
think is great because I can put my feet on her shoulders and kiss the top of
her head or pull on her hair. She does not like it when I do this, but she
still lets me! I have such fun around here!

The weekend was pretty boring around here. I played
and was my normal cute self, but nothing really special happened.

Monday, Mom stayed home with us again. I could get
used to this! She let us play most of the day. Three of us got to go sleep with
her for a while as well. Then she left for a bit. When she finally got home it
was almost time for Dad to be home. We each got some loving time from Mom
during the day and I felt more special than usual. Then, Mom decided to groom
me again! She sat down in front of the television and called me over. I thought
it was for more petting, so I came running, but she then held me down and
started stripping me! I hate it when she does that! She did this for about an
hour when Dad came in and asked if she needed help and she told him she was
finished with me.

Tuesday, more grooming. When Mom got home from work,
she petted and loved all of us some more. Then when Dad got home, she tricked
me again and finished stripping my coat! It was not fun because Dad held me
down so she could finish. I got to sleep out with Dad and Mom that night, which
is always fun. I bounced on the bed and would not move until Dad came to bed
and then I scooted over just enough for him to join us. It is very cozy in bed
with Dad and Mom.

Wednesday, what a weird and wonderful day. While Dad
and Mom were at work, white stuff started coming down and it did not stop until
it covered the ground! It was so neat! Isee said it is called Snow! I love the
cooler temperatures and the really neat way this stuff sticks to my fur! It was a great deal of fun to run outside in
the evening and plow through the stuff!

Thursday, more snow! After Mom got home from work,
she let us out and I came in from outside with my nose covered in the stuff! Mom
took a picture of me with the snow in my face! I am just too cute! It is so
fun! Bonnet hates the way it sticks in her furnishings. She gets big balls of
the stuff stuck on her. I think it is funny and pound the floor laughing when
that happens. Ever is always concerned about Bonnet, so he cleaned up the
snowballs that Bonnet picked off herself. He loves ice anyway, so he ate them!

Friday, it snowed again! I had even more fun
dragging the stuff in as Mom was doing something with a big role of paper and things she said were
for Dad’s Christmas gift, what ever that is. Anyway, I ran over the paper as
she was rolling it out on the floor and got it all wet several times. After she
started getting angry, I decided to stay out in the snow until Dad came home.
Ever stayed close to Mom and said he would tell me when she stopped doing
strange things with paper. Dad came home just after she finished and there is
now a pile of wrapped things in the computer room and hallway. Sometimes I just
don’t understand my human parents!

Saturday morning Bonnet and Isee got in big trouble!
The had been arguing all night, but Mom did not know that when she went to let
them out in the morning. Their argument was over bunnies they had seen out side
the night before. Mom let us all out together and they decided to rumble over
the bunnies again. This time, they really got into it. I was trying to
encourage them when Ever decided he had better go tell Mom what was going on.
That darn tattle tale!! He got Mom and although she had some trouble, she broke
it up and we all headed inside. By this time Isee got what was coming to her and
she was bleeding badly. Mom was very concerned and ignored Bonnet and the rest
of us. She held Isee still for hours, woke Dad up and they took Isee out for a
ride. Now why Isee got rewarded for getting into a fight with Bonnet, I am
still not sure. When they got home, we still did not see Isee. Finally, when
they let Bonnet, Ever, and I out, we found her curled up in the back of the den
in the dining room where she likes to be. We were not allowed in to see her.
Mom finally checked over Bonnet and we spent the rest of the day playing and
teasing Isee from outside her hiding place. She did not come to bed with us
that night either.

Sunday, Isee still got special treatment all day.
She lost the fight, but she was still being rewarded! Not fair! I played with Bonnet
and Ever all day.

Monday, Mom was home with us most of the day, but it
rained, so we could not go out much. I played with Bonnet and Isee stayed in
her den. Ever just hovered over Isee and then Bonnet and tried to make love to
them but they were not interested! Mom had some guy come to the far garage and
was over there talking to him while he moved something off the big truck he
brought. They talked for quite a while in the rain. We stood out there and did
our best to protect her, but she kept telling us to be quite. She must know
that we need to protect her from such strange people when we can’t even get
near them! I did my best to pound the dirt and tell the guy that my Mom was
under our guard. Isee missed out on the fun as she was still in her den.

Tuesday, Mom let Bonnet and Isee out of their pens
together, but did not let Isee come outside with the rest of us unless Bonnet
was in the new den she put in the dining room. Isee was very smug about the
whole thing and tried to protect her bone from us. Like Bonnet will not kill
her over that one later! Dad was very late getting home and only Isee got to
see him. I heard him, so I know he was back!

Thursday, Mom did some strange stuff when she got
home. She came in and fed us right away. Then she ran around for quite a while
and did not let us out at all. Bonnet then got let out and a leash was put on
her. She was getting to go somewhere without the rest of us! Dad came home and let
us all stay out longer than usual. He even let the three of us sleep with him!
That was really fun!

Friday, Dad did not get up in time to feed us, so we
woke him up! He was not very happy to be woken up, but too bad. We three got to
play most of the day together. Mom finally came home later than she would
normally get home from work and brought Bonnet with her. Bonnet tells me she
went back down to the same area we went to recently. Granddad went with Mom and
her. She said Mom was pretty forgetful and did not give her any more food or
water after they went to bed. She was taken to the same vet that they went to
the last time and this time, she had surgery. She said it still hurt when she
got back to Mom and she was put back in the car and they came back! What a
horrible trip! Bonnet said she was still groggy when they started on their trip
and she complained, but Mom would not listen to her and they kept driving. I
was just really happy to see Mom again, so I was gentle when I went up to be
petted by her. Mom forced me to go see Granddad when she got home. She also
took me in the scary building across from the house. I was afraid I would have
to leave and do the same things Bonnet did, but I just got to walk around and
then Mom put me away and fed everyone. Dad and Mom left for a while and we all
had some out time when they got back, but Isee or Bonnet were in a crate the
whole time again.

Saturday, we slept in and were quiet for the rest of
the night. Mom put us outside and them took all our stuff to the car. She made
a game to trying to catch me! Bonnet went willingly into her crate in the car,
but I wanted to show her who was boss! She won, but I held out for a really
long time. We drove for what seemed like forever again! Finally we made it
home! Bonnet and I were put directly in our pens. Isee complained that she was
hoping to never see Bonnet again, so they grumbled at each other for quite a
while.

Sunday, Bonnet and I played a great deal we were so
happy to still be at home.

Wednesday, Mom and Dad were up later than usual and
I was actually ready for bed when they finally wanted to sleep. Before bed, Dad
was eating some cheese on the couch and I thought it would be fun to see if he
would give me some. So, I just put my front paws on his plate, right on top of
the cheese! Wow, was he upset, but he did give me the piece of cheese, so he
must have been faking the mad part! I am going to have to try to do this
trick more often, it is very rewarding! I
am still playing keep away from both Dad and Mom! It is fun and they get really
annoyed with me over it

Thursday, Dad and Mom were home with us all day!
They cooked a great smelling meal and tried to keep us from stealing it. This
time Dad guarded the food and they left it on the table where I can’t quite
reach yet. Even can, so I need to grow as big and he is! Mom let each of us
have some cuddle time and we rested on her lap. Dad spent the rest of the day
outside putting up some strange things out there. After dark. He turned all
these outside lights on and it scared away all the bunnies and critters, I like
to chase, but he seemed happy with the lights, so I won’t complain yet. After
all, he gave me my cheese yesterday!

Friday, Mom was late getting home, but not too much.
She brought in bags of stuff, so I guess she went somewhere fun. When Dad got
home, they went out and they smelled like food when they came back. I hate it
when they go out to eat and don’t invite us! We spent the rest of the evening
resting quietly around the house as all the good critters were gone because of
those stupid things that Dad put outside.

The weekend was pretty normal around here except Dad
let me on his lap for a bit and Mom tried to take pictures of me trying to kiss
Dad on the face. He does not like that very much, so it was kind of fun to try!
I then jumped off and spent the rest of the weekend relaxing with the other
kids.

Monday, Ready was rather upset all evening and I thought it was fun to tease
him. He did not want teased, so he got mad at me. He got to sleep with Dad and
Mom as a reward for putting up with me, I guess.

Tuesday, Ready was up with Mom, which is unusual and she put him away with us
before she left for work. While Dad and Mom were at work, he passed away. Mom
found him lying on his side on the floor and we were all rather quiet when she
came home. We were hoping she did not notice! Mom said he was 14 years and 2
months exactly and both Dad and Mom were really upset! Mom blocked us from
going back into our pens until Dad got home, she was even late feeding us
dinner. Ever got to spend all that time out, which is not the normal. He
usually has to split time with Ready, but with Ready being gone, I got to chase
Ever all evening! When Mom finally decided to feed us, something had changed!
Mom had moved Isee into Ready’s pen and me to Isee’s! This worked out well for
me since there were a ton of new bones in there for me to chew! Isee did not
understand why she got moved out of her pen and wanted to go into her old one.
This move put Isee and Bonnet next to each other and I am not sure why Mom
decided to do this. They don’t much care for each other.

Wednesday was another day when Mom was late getting
home and both she and Dad were very sad and not much fun went on in the house,
except that Mom clippered me, darn her! I don’t know why she did this. She did
not do any other grooming and none of the others seem to think that we are
going anywhere.

Thursday, it appears that the others think something
has changed because they are all getting upset. They saw Mom pack a suitecase,
but not any of the normal doggy things. She did pack some food, but that was all. No one got groomed for a dog
show and Dad was not found to be packing any of his stuff. Ever and Isee are
very worried! They did not like what happened earlier in the week and now
things are being packed. I think it is fun when weird things happen around here
because it livens up the place. All of the stuff that was packed was taken down
stairs by Dad during the course of the evening, so I don’t know why the others
are upset. It is all gone now anyway!

Friday, Mom got up at the same time as Dad, which is
very unusual. She did not go to work and Dad did. After a short period of time
she came and got Bonnet and I. She took us downstairs and let Bonnet jump in
the back of her car. I tried to jump in, but did not quite make it. Mom had to
boost me up. Then she got in and we drove, and drove, and drove. After a while,
I did not care where we were going as long as I got to get out of my crate! I
hate those things in the first place, and I could not believe I was stuck in
one for such a long time. Then Mom stopped the car and got out. She left for a
couple of minutes and when she came back we got to get out and for the first
time, the grass was covered in this white stuff! I have no idea what it was,
but it was very cold and I did not like walking in it. I tried to get Mom to
carry me, but she just kept telling me to go Hurry Hurry instead. Bonnet buried
her nose in it and came up looking like a ghost of herself. She shook her head
and all the white stuff went flying. Needless to say, I did not want to go
potty in this white grass! So, Mom put us back into the car and off we went
again, driving and driving and driving! It was so boring. Finally, Mom stopped
again. This time the grass was normal and Bonnet and I were allowed to run for
a short bit. We both did our Hurry Hurrries and back to the car we went. I am
tired of getting in that thing! So, we drove for another really long time and
this time when we stopped and Mom opened her door, Bonnet told me it smelled
like her old home to her. She was happy and yet nervous because she really
likes life with Mom and did not want to go back to living with the lady Mom
calls Aunt Pat. She told me she likes Aunt Pat, but she likes the attention she
gets from Dad and Mom much better. Mom finally let us out of the car and then
she went inside and left us alone outside in what is to me a strange place.
Neither of us were very happy about that and tried to get in to be with her.
Mom finally moved my crate into the house and then she did a terrible thing!
She left me in it, took Bonnet and went away! Leaving me in a strange place by
myself was not right! I did not like it at all! Bonnet told me when she got
back that she was taken to a vet who did not do anything really bad to her.
They took a blood sample and that is all that happened. Mom then took me and
put me in a strange cage in the back of another car. By this time, I was
getting upset with her over the time spent in cars, so I decided not to allow
her to pick me up anymore. This time, Bonnet got left behind! She deserved it
after what I went through! We went to a strange place where I saw my first
human mother. Like Bonnet, I was not sure what to do about meeting her again,
but decided that Mom would never get rid of me.
I am just too cute! The visit was very short and I was then forced to
sit in this strange car for quite a while. I am upset with Mom over all of
this! She should know better than to leave me! When we got back from that trip,
Bonnet was all in a dither about being left alone. She was so worked up that
she had been crying! I laughed at her and she jumped in Mom’s arms and stayed
there for a very long time. Finally after such a long day it was time for bed.
Mom put us in the crates we rode to this place in, but she had moved them into
the house by then. I have never been forced to sleep in such a small spot, but
after a while, I settled down. Bonnet and I woke up in the middle of the night
and decided to take our frustration about the situation out on Mom, so we both
chewed the bones we had been given as loudly as possible on the bottoms of our
crates! That got her attentions, but not the results we wanted. She took the
good yummy bones away!

Saturday,
Dad and Mom were up early for a weekend. Mom is usually up early, but Dad
usually sleeps until late. They left the house early with Ever. He said they
drove for what seemed like a really long time. Then they went to a vets office.
He does not much care for the vets, but this time was different. The lady who
came to pet him brought him a girl! He said she was not his type, but when
someone needs bred, he is always up for the job! The lady would not leave him
alone, but it was ok with him. He also had some blood drawn and his teeth
brushed, but he was so happy, he did not care! I will never understand males!
Once they were done. Mom went into a building by herself and came out with
food. She gave Ever some and he said he spent most of the trip home licking the
flavor off the crate he was riding in.

Monday, Ever is in trouble with Bonnet and Isee for
tattling again. He went to tell Mom that they were fighting, but she was busy
and did not come out to break up the fight. Dad heard them and came running
out. He could not break them up, so he went and got Mom. She finally came out
and they broke up the fight. Mom insisted on carrying Bonnet in and did not
seem happy with her at all. Dad carried Isee in and Mom was yelling at Ever
again because he was pestering Isee. He smelled blood and figured she must be
in season, but she was not happy about it and was snapping at him. In fact,
Bonnet and Isee spent the rest of the week snapping at him because they are not
in season and don’t want to be bothered. Isee got the worst of the injuries, so
Mom and Dad went over her for quite a while. They left the rest of us in our
pens for the night! How boring! She laid around for a couple of days, but is
back to normal now. Since this incident, Dad has been afraid to let Bonnet and
Isee out at the same time. Mom lets them out together and usually lets Ever out
first, so Isee has to run to the crate so she can hide from Ever because she
can’t tell Ever off when Bonnet is right next to her. Mom suspects something
like this caused the fight in the first place, but we are not going to tell
her!

Friday, Mom came home as usual and let all of us
outside. Ever and I were wrestling, not fighting outside and he rolled me in
some poop! It smelled wonderful! I went back out and rolled in it again because
it was so much fun! Mom spoiled all my fun because she did not like the smell.
She caught me and took me into the dog room and put me in the large green tub
where she washes us. I had to have a complete bath! YUCK! I don’t like baths. Playing
in a pool of water is great, but a bath is not even close to fun. Mom soaked
me, then put this stinky stuff all over me. She then rinsed it out, but the
smell did not go away. I lost all that good poop, and for what? Some smelly
stuff that Mom likes the smell of? I don’t even smell like a normal dog now!

Darn! We
got caught! We thought that we got away without Dad or Mom discovering we
killed a rabbit Frday night, but Dad had to go and ruin all our fun on
Saturday. On Friday night, Bonnet caught a bunny. She and Isee promised me that
I could have some the next day. Well, we were not allowed out until afternoon,
and I went out to get the leftovers. I had them and was playing keep away with
Bonnet, Ready and Isee when I brought the rest of the body inside.
That is when Dad caught me! I thought I was being a good puppy! I sat with the
body in my mouth like I am supposed to when someone looks at me threateningly.
I was not going to let go of the yummy treat the others graciosly let me have,
no matter what he thought! Then he grabbed me and carried me by the scruff of
my neck! Only my real mom is supposed to do that! I was not happy, but I held
onto my goodie and he carried me outside. After carrying me across the porch,
he held me out over the railing, which is not that far from the ground, but I
would have been sore if he had dropped me. Dad then told me to “Drop It” and
when someone says that, I know I have to obey, so I did. It was not fun at all!
Dad then pulled me close to his face and stared at me for a while. Then he said
I was a good girl and put me down. Where I dropped the bunny, none of us
could reach, so it went to waste! Bonnet and Ever were upset with Dad for
wasting a tasty treat, but I am just thankful that I did not get into more
trouble.

Sunday,
Mom faked me out and groomed me. I hate it when she does that. Dad helped her!
She says she loves my coat, but I don’t understand why she thinks it is
necessary to pull it out all the time.

Tuesday,
I lost one of my canine teeth! My mouth is very sore and I have been chasing
all the older dogs and chewing on them, but they are getting frustrated with
me. Mom felt sorry for me and let me sleep with them again. I was such a good
girl! I curled up on Dad’s side of the bed until he came in to sleep. I thought
I did a great job of keeping it warm for him. Then I went ahead and let him
have the warm spot so he could sleep.

Wednesday,
what a funny site Bonnet was! She was at the bottom of the driveway with Mom
for several hours and she had some kind of weird shirt on! She told me all
about it when she got back after we finished laughing at her! Mom took her down
the driveway in the car and made her sit at the bottom with her for quite a
while. They did not go for a walk or anything fun. Bonnet said that strangers,
who looked funny, mostly smaller humans, came around and took the yummy food
Mom had set on the grooming table. She was hoping it was for her, but she did
not even get a taste. She tried grumbling, but never barked at anyone because
she said there were too many in the groups to protect Mom from all at once. She
is such a baby! I would have protected Mom properly, but I was still in pain
from my teeth. Bonnet said that one kid called her “Cheer Leader Doggy” and
said good bye to her when she was done stealing treats! Bonnet spent a good
deal of time on Mom’s lap hiding her head in shame after that incident! When
Mom brought Bonnet back ups, she still had that strange shirt on and Dad made
her stand still while Mom took pictures! Too Funny!

Thursday,
finally some relief from my teeth. I lost all my canine teeth today. Mom found
one lose in my mouth and took it out, I lost the others on my own, thank you
very much! I am still chasing the other and biting them, but I don’t care!

Friday,
Mom asked Ever and Isee to find something in the house. We think she was
talking about our little grey friend who sometimes steals food from us. He is
so nice, but Mom thinks he needs to be removed! She kept taking Ever and Isee
to where he was hanging out and trying to get them to fetch him for her. Maybe
someday she will realize he is a friend of ours, unlike the bunny and groundhog
in the front yard. They don’t live in the house with us!

Monday,
Dad and Mom took Ever and Isee to obedience class again. They were late getting
home this time. Isee and Ever told me about the class because it was way
different than their usual ones. Dad and Mom were carrying more cookies and
this time they also had toys in some fancy bags. Isee said that class started
out the same as always. They did some walking and sitting. When they were done
with that, all of the people made their dogs stand in one corner so that
pictures could be taken. Then they all dispersed around the room like they were
getting ready for more walking, but some guy brought around a container
of treats and shook it in her face. He did not even give her any! How unfair is
that? After he had teased all the doggies at the class, they all had to line up
at one end of the building and the fancy bags were all put on the floor. Isee
and Ever each got to pick a bag and Dad and Mom got a piece of paper. It sounds
to me like Isee and Ever got the better end of the deal! Once that was done and
all the bags were taken, they went and sat on some chairs. Isee got very upset
because she could not see Dad and Ever at that point, so after a while Mom went
to find Dad and he took Isee out to the car where he left her. She was really
relieved to be resting in her crate at that point.

Ever
finished telling me about the end of class. He said the people had drug a bunch
of obstacles out into the space where class was usually held. Mom took him
through all of them. He was fine with the jumps. He was not as happy with the
tunnels, but he still went through them when Mom called him. He did not
understand why he was asked to go through a maze, but he did it quite easily.
Then Mom asked him to climb a narrow steep hill. He tried to go around it,
which would have been easier, but Mom insisted he do so. Once he got to the
top, a lady gave him hot dog!! He loved it! After that, he figured he could do
anything Mom asked if there was a stranger at the end of whatever she asked him
to do. She then asked him to walk up an even more narrow thing and to
stay on it while it moved. He had no problem, but the lady at the end did not
give him any goodies. Once Mom had taken him through all the obstacles, Dad did
the same thing. Dad liked the tunnels a lot more than Mom and had Ever go
through them several times. Mom helped Dad entice Ever up the narrow hill
again, and made him stop a the bottom just like the first time, with his back
feet on the hill and his front ones on the floor. Dad also asked Ever to go on
the moving narrow ramp, but when it started to move, Ever decided to jump off
instead of waiting until it hit the ground. Mom seemed upset about that, but a
few jumps later, they left even though it did not look like class was over.

Tuesday
was a fairly normal evening to start. Mom decided to take a nap, but Ready,
Isee, Bonnet and I came back to nap with her and woke her up. She decided not
to take a nap after Ready banged on her door a bunch of times. Ready got up on
the bed and Mom decided to sit there for a few seconds. Ready decided he was
going to sleep there for the rest of the night. Bonnet also got on the bed and
was resting by Ready. When Mom got back up, Isee and I went back out with her.
We went outside to play for quite a while and had fun, just the two of us. Then
I was inside and heard Mom calling Bonnet. Bonnet was still on the bed resting
with Ready. She heard Mom and came out, but did not want to go out through the
hall way behind the couch and past the bird. So, she tried to jump over the
couch, but Mom put her arm up and Bonnet landed on the mail that was on the
back of the couch which then slid down onto Mom’s arm which is where
Bonnet ended up. I realized at that moment that Mom’s drink was on the couch
cushion just underneath of Bonnet ! Mom quickly moved the drink before it got
spilled and I could drink some of the tasty liquid. Instead she let Bonnet down
and got her off the couch safely. It was a rather comical scene, though and I
laughed at Bonnet! Her fear of that bird cage and back hallway is irrational
anyway. Even Isee is not afraid of that! I see no reason to fear anything there
as long as the parrot is not watching me.

Wednesday,
I had been sitting next to Mom on the couch being petted while I we catch up on
the weeks blog. I like it when she uses her little computer and spends time
with each of us instead of sitting in the chair in the other room where we
can’t get too close to her. Mom had gotten home late today, which meant that I
did not get as much play time as usual. So I decided to play a new game when
Dad went to put us to bed. Everyone went into the dog room, but I ran back outside!
The problem was that no one came out to play with me! I finally got bored and
went in. Mom grabbed me up and took me to their pen for bed. I got to sleep
with Dad and Mom! It was wonderful sleeping on that big comfy bed. I stretched
out on the corner and took as much space as I wanted all night. Mom carried me
to bed when she got up in the morning.

Thursday,
Mom took Ready and I for a walk. We were joined and then passed by Dad with
Isee and Bonnet. I got upset when Mom did not let me catch up to Bonnet who was
out in front! I ended up tangled in my leash because I was so frustrated. Mom
was trying to help me untangle and I was still mad that I was not out in front,
so I jumped up with all four feet spread out and off the ground and untangled myself.
Then I tried to get Mom to catch up to Dad, but it took quite a while and I was
so frustrated, I was complaining the whole way!

On Friday
night, I was out playing with Isee, Ever and Bonnet. Isee was inside resting.
Ever was inside begging to be petted. Bonnet was outside hot on the trail of a
bunny, and I was helping her until Bonnet got mad at me. I ran inside, gave Mom
a look of sheer terror that caused her to come see what the problem was. Isee
also came to investigate. Boy did I trick them. Mom thought Bonnet was getting
into trouble and sent Dad to go look for her. So, Isee and I went out and
played around Dad’s feet while he searched. Bonnet was just trying to find a
way out of the fence to get a bunny when Dad found her. I can’t believe they
fell for this trick. I will have to use it in the future, when I want them to
play with me!

I will be one of the first people to advocate taking a dog to obedience class. However, I always try to guide the owners to a training class that is run by people who do obedience on a regular basis and get titles on their dogs rather than a country wide chain that does not always hire the best teacher for the job. Having just completed a course at my local kennel club, I am reluctant to say that I am not always sure that if the person is not a member of the club, I can refer them to their nearest all breed club. I just spent the past seven Monday’s at my local all breed club for an obedience class. Some of the people who were members of the club were there with their large herding dogs who were very dominant and not well under control. A friend of mine who just has 2 pet dogs, one of which is part great dane and some other large breed like mastif, attended the same class. One night she left in tears because the herding dog was staring at her dog and her dog snarled at this herding dog. I would have said that it was both dogs and owners faults, but the next week, the same herding dog caused the same reaction in another dog! The breeder of this herding dog was also at the class and told the substitute teacher that we had the week of this incident, she had told the owner to keep the dog away from my friends dog. Needless to say, my friend, who keeps fearing her large breed dog be considered aggressive because of some of her neighbors comments about her dog and how vicious he sounds when he barks. My dog was also upset by the way this herding dog was staring at him, but I have better control of my dog than most owners who don’t have show dogs. The teacher just moved the dogs to opposite sides of the room. She also called my friend to discuss the incident, but she never said she would talk to the herding dog owners. Needless to say, my friend dropped out of class because she felt her dog was being picked on. I kept on with class and continued to see the same behavior from the herding dog. At the end of class, at graduation, we got to try some agility and I noticed that the herding dog owners were very cozy with the teacher and her helpers. The dog learned little about how to act around other dogs, and his owners learned nothing about how to control their dog. I suspect that in two years, this dog will be extremely aggressive and the owners will have no idea why. My revenge for my friend was to buy the loudest most obnoxious screaming monkey toy, and contrived to get the owner to have her dog pick that as their graduation gift. The owner is now stuck with a screaming monkey toy that the dog is obsessed with. However, if a person asks me where I would suggest they go to obedience class, I am not sure I can recommend an all breed club where the club members will get special attention and consideration. I will instead have to suggest an obedience training club or perhaps one of those large chain stores where I know all people will be treated the same. I am going to look into another all breed club to see if I can find one that will be more objective and not so member friendly.

Week 5

Saturday, after such a nice sleep on the comfy bed,
as Mom calls it, we all had a great deal of fun in the yard. Dad and Mom let us
out, but were not watching us. Dad actually left. No one knows where he went.
While he was gone, Mom threw us a bunch of toys over the fence. We had a blast
playing with them. Ever and Isee took theirs and ran around the yard a bunch of
times. I could not decide which toy I liked best for a while. I finally settled
on a dark brown one that was almost as big as I am. It grunted when I chewed on
it! Ever tried to steal it, but I would not let him! This made the day better,
since Mom was not able to spend as much time with us. She was playing with big
toys outside dragging them around the drive. Then she started a fire! It was
really hot and we had to back away from that side of the fence. She kept this
up until Dad got home and then he helped her play with some more stuff. It
looked like they were having fun. We followed them back and forth for quite a
while. When Bonnet got tired, she lay on her side in the yard, sunning herself
as it was not a very warm day out and she actually fell asleep! I went inside
to see what kind of trouble I could get into, but Mom had kept everything up
and I could not find anything to drag outside.

Sunday we had a relaxing morning
until Dad and Mom decided to groom everyone! Dad and Mom shut all of us in the
dog room, but would not let us get in our pens. They started with Ever, then
Bonnet, then they got to me. I fought as much as I could. Mom started with
stripping and undercoating me. She would not let me get up. Dad came to help
her and he held me down so that I had no choice. Next, they did my ears, then
my toenails. I fought as hard as I could because Ever had one toenail that was
cut too short and he was pretty upset and told me it hurt. I did not want to be
hurt, so I fought tooth and nail. Dad held my mouth shut and Mom held my legs
still. They did not really hurt me and it was soon all over. Dad let me get
back in my pen and I watched Isee and Ever get groomed. I felt way better after
it was all done, but I really don't like not being in control! Neither do the
others, but they put up with it because Mom tells them to. Ever got to sleep
out with Dad and Mom. He loves it when he is allowed to do so and has decided
that if he is going to be allowed, he will actually lay on the bed next to Mom
and not spend hours sniffing around the room.

Monday Dad and Mom both went to
Obedience class with Ever and Isee. Ever was disappointed because Dad took him
from Mom again. Isee on the other hand was thrilled that Mom spent the whole
class with her. She said up until the very end, she was happy to do what Mom
asked. Then she got a bit nervous because some of the dogs were barking and she
wanted to bolt for the door. When they got home, Bonnet again climed on Mom's
lap and napped with her while Mom watched tv. Bonnet did not want to get off,
but Mom went to bed early. Bonnet went back to bed with Mom. Ready jumped the
gate and went back without permission. I was surprised not to see Dad throw him
back over the gate, but Ready must have charmed his way onto the bed too!

Tuesday started like any other with Mom and then Dad
going to work after feeding us. When Mom got home, she had a snack of something
rather yummy that she shared with all of us. It was in a large bowl and very
sweet tasting. Since I am the smallest, she let me get on her lap to taste this
treat. The others then got a turn, but I wanted it all for myself! It was
really yummy! Isee ended up with some of it all over her beard and Ever cleaned
her up. Mom started doing this strange thing with Ever after that. She put him
on this contraption across from where she spends a great deal of time when she
gets home. She put a collar on his neck and turned this contraption on. It
sounded loud and Isee and Bonnet ran outside. I followed them, but when I came
back in to see why Ever did not follow, he was just trotting along on it. He
did this for quite a while and then Mom let him stop. He seemed very happy
about it, but I think it is strange!

Week 4

Saturday, later in
the afternoon, Bonnet and Ever got all dolled up and Dad and Mom took them out
again. When they got back, Bonnet told me that neither of then wanted to do the
Dog Show thing in the heat of the afternoon. So, both of them moved slower than
normal and were not as good as Mom always likes them to be. I don?t blame them,
it was rather hot and muggy out. Mom took a nap when they got
home.

Monday, Mom took Ever to Obedience. She was the only one who went
and Ever got to go. I was thrilled to be alone with Mom and did his best to obey
and anticipate her commands. She was very proud of him. She has spent the rest
of the week working with Isee and Ever to get them to have a better class next
week. Isee was so relieved to not be going to class, that she did everything Mom
asked her to.

Wednesday Mom was up later than
usual and Bonnet was not too happy about not being put to bed. She climbed up
near Mom and asked Mom to pet her. Mom picked her up and put Bonnet on her lap.
She then lay down and let Mom pet her for over an hour. Bonnet decided that from
now on, she is going to get Mom to do this with her. Ever, Isee, and I were
jealous! We were all trying to find ways to get her down. I tried biting her
legs, but Mom just moved her to where she would be more comfortable and far
enough away that I could not reach her.

Friday was a very fun day! Mom
came home and let us out as usual. She began making phone calls and never even
noticed that the laundry room was open! Ever taught me how to take socks
outside. We played with them for quite a while. Some weird person came by and
dropped off some large green thing. Dad was pretty happy with it. We were eating
and did not get a chance to bark at this stranger, but as long as Dad and Mom
said it was OK, we decided it was not necessary to bark too much. The weird
green thing stayed beside the driveway and is still there. Dad and Mom went to
the store and when they came back, we know they had been eating because the both
smelled yummy. Mom also had a big yellow box of something that smelled good! She
was eating it on the couch. I asked nicely and she gave everyone a piece. It
tasted sweet and crunchy! I wanted more! I waited until she left the box
unattended and knocked it off the couch so I could eat more. Mom came in and saw
me. She got all mad and picked me up. She cleaned up most of the mess and then
let all the other dogs have some and made me stay on her lap so I could not have
anymore of the good yummy stuff. She held me until they had it all cleaned up. I
was not too happy about that! Once she put me down, I sniffed around and found a
few crumbs that the others had missed, so I was not to unhappy in the end. A bit
later, Dad put everyone but Ready and I away. Ready went back into the big pen
where Dad and Mom sleep. Dad wanted me to go there too, but I was not going!
Bonnet and Isee told me all kinds of scary things about that place! Dad had to
catch me and carry me back there. Once he did, he put me on this big tall thing
and Mom and Ready were laying there. Mom petted me and told me I was a good
girl, which I know I am! Then all of a sudden, I saw this other puppy across
from me. I could not smell it, but I saw it. It moved every time I did and
stared right at me until I looked away. It disappeared when the light got very
dim and I spend a good 15 minutes trying to find it back. I finally got tired of
looking for it and Ready was getting upset with me so I laid down and went to
sleep next to Mom. Dad came in later and slept with us. Mom got me up early the
next morning and took me back to my pen. I did not want to be there, but she
ignored my complaints and went back to the big pen without me.
